David Hance has a distinguished career combining Law Enforcement, Private Business and Non-Profit work.
After graduating from University, David began a career in law enforcement that spanned 20 years, working in Denver, Colorado, and Los Angeles California.
Following his career in Law Enforcement, David formed a legal investigation firm which specialized in handling criminal defense and civil rights cases, with a focus to ensure fairness for all people involved in the justice system.David’s firm and team of investigators became one of the most sought-after companies in the Southern California area, for their work in defending people’s constitutional rights.
In 2015, David accepted the position of Chief Operating Officer with Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. In the following 7 years, David transformed the operational strategy of Sea Shepherd, and helped turned them from an organization who was known for radical activism, to an organization that worked closely with governments.
David helped to create successful partnerships between Sea Shepherd and Mexico, Ecuador, and Africa.
In 2022, David helped to form the NGO, Marine Protection Alliance, (MPA). MPA’s mission is to work in partnership with the various countries and governments of the SEMAR region, to help them protect their territorial waters and Marine Protected Areas, from IUU fishing and other violations by foreign vessels.
David lives in Panama City, Panama, where the Headquarters of MPA is located, and he will oversee all operations across Latin America, in the SEMAR region.
